Welcome to Algeria! Arrive to Algiers and transfer to the hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, you will take an orientation walking tour of downtown Algiers including the Grand post and corniche.
If you have an early morning arrival, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah in the afternoon.

After breakfast, you will depart for Cherchell, which was once the capital of the Numidian kingdoms. Take a guided tour of the museum before traveling to your next destination, the UNESCO World Heritage Roman site of Tipaza. Tipaza is arguably one of the most picturesque Roman cities in North Africa. Stroll down the ancient Roman road next to the clear Mediterranean Sea and get a glimpse of what it would have been like to live in this Roman settlement. Here you will visit the museum and the archeological site, which includes the largest basilica in North Africa.
On your way back to Algiers, you will explore the pyramid-like structure of the Tomb of the Christian (Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania).

Today you will have an early morning departure and wind through the picturesque Kabilye mountain range to the city of Setif. Your first stop will be the National Museum of Archaeology which hosts the remarkable and intact mosaic Procession of Bacchus.
Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Djemila, meaning ‘Beautiful’ in Arabic. The site lives up to its name as it is uniquely situated amongst rolling hills. You will have a guided visit to the museum and the historic site. Explore the forum, basilicas, baptisteries, Arch of Caracalla, Temple des Septimes, well-preserved Roman market, and theatre.
Travel to Constantine for the night.

After breakfast, travel to the hillside Roman site of Tiddis, which offers excellent views over the surrounding region. You will begin by walking through a triumphal arch to a paved Roman road. Follow the path to visit the sanctuary of Mithras, the Christian basilica, Roman homes, water tanks, and a small forum.
In the afternoon, return to Constantine for a city tour. Located above the Rhumel Gorge, Constantine has a view that is sure to impress. Some of the sites you will visit may include the museum of Cirta, the suspension bridges, the Kasbah, and Palace of Ahmed Bey.

You will want to get an early start today to travel south to the historical and archaeological sites of Timgad and Lambaesis. Before you reach Timgad, stop at Medracen (Ancient Numidian Tomb), which is 58 meters in diameter and 19 meters tall.
Continue to the UNESCO site of Timgad, begun by Emperor Trajan in AD100, where you will discover the library, temples, amphitheater, arch of Trajan, forum, houses, and basilicas. There is a fantastic museum at the site with grand mosaics found in the region.
On your return to Lambaesis you will stop to visit the large ancient Roman legionary base. Return to Constantine for night.

Take a domestic flight to Ghardaia.
Ghardaïa is in the culturally diverse UNESCO World Heritage region of the M’Zab valley. You will transfer to your hotel. If time permits, you may explore the markets and architecture which is unique to this region.

Step back into time as you enjoy the local customs and culture. Visit the historic cities and sites in the M’Zab Valley. Your guide will take you through traditional marketplaces, fully rich in culture and unique architecture. Spend the day wandering the narrow streets, visiting important religious monuments and mosques, and enjoying the natural beauty found in this Oasis region.

You will take a flight to Algiers and depending on your arrival time you will take a city tour in Algiers.
If you arrive early in the afternoon, you will wind your way through the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah with its narrow streets and unique history.

If you have time before your flight, you will take an additional guided city tour in Algiers. Your guide will take you to the airport for your departure flight.
Upon arrival in the Tunis capital, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel.
If you have an early arrival, you may explore the historic Tunis Medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Make your way through narrow lanes and alleyways stumbling upon local artisans of copper, leather, and wool. The famous Zitouna Mosque, spice market, and gold market are sites you don’t want to miss. Dinner will be at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will visit the ancient archaeological sites of Carthage, once the largest ancient city in northern Africa. This site holds ruins from many eras of history; the Punics, Romans, Vandals, and Byzantines all made claim to this area at some point.
Continue to the quaint village of Sidi Bou Said which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. You will explore its beautifully paved lanes and spectacular sea views.
Return to Tunis and visit the Bardo Museum. This is a world-class museum featuring the largest collection ofmosaics in the world. There are also numerous rooms in the museum featuring artifacts from the Punic to Islamic periods. Dinner will be at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will travel to Dougga, which is considered one of the best-preserved Roman ruins in Tunisia. This enormous Roman archaeological site was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Overlooking the vast surrounding regions, it is not uncommon to see locals herding their sheep through the Roman ruins.
Continue on to the Roman site of Makthar. There are several notable archaeological wonders including a Trajan forum, large baths, schola juvenum (Roman minor militia club), and other pre-Roman structures. There is also a small museum where you can find some mosaics and other artifacts excavated from this site.
Afterward, you will travel to the important Islamic city of Kairouan. Dinner will be at the hotel.

This morning, we will visit the grand mosque Okba Ibn Nafaa which was established in 670 AD. You will also visit the mausoleum of the Berber companion of Mohammed and the Aghlabid pool.
In Kairouan, there is an ancient medina with winding streets, well worth a visit! You may want to stop at a carpet-making workshop where you can watch, admire, and learn about this incredible artisan work.
Next, visit the archaeological site of Sbeitla with its ancient church sites along with intricately designed baptisteries, temples, baths, and the Arch of Diocletian. When you are done exploring, you will travel to Tozeur. Dinner will be at the hotel.

In the morning, travel to the beautiful mountainside oasis village of Chebika. Chebika was once a Roman outpost, but later became a mountain refuge for the Berber people. You can hike through the Chebika canyon to the source of the mountain oasis.
From Chebika, travel to Tamerza which is the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia. Afterward, travel to Mides where you will have a nice panoramic view of the canyon below. The canyon was used for the filming of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The English Patient.
If time permits, you can explore Ong Jemel, ‘the neck of the camel‘ in the afternoon. Travel over barren land and see the Sahara dunes and a Star Wars Mos Espa film location. Return to Tozeur for your night and dinner.

This morning, travel across the Chott el Jerid, the largest salt flat in Tunisia until you arrive in Douz. Douz is considered a ‘gateway to the Sahara’ and also has the largest date palmary in southern Tunisia.
Afterwards, travel to the beautiful oasis of Ksar Ghilane situated next to the Sahara dunes. Here you can enjoy a swim in the natural hot spring, or ride a camel in the desert, or rent a 4×4 quad and drive out to an abandoned Roman fort.
Accommodation: Camp Zmela Half-Board (authentic tented camp 16KM into the Sahara with shared bathrooms)
After breakfast you will take a 4X4 back to the Ksar Ghilane Oasis. You will begin your journey north and travel to Matmata where the locals have lived in underground troglodyte homes for centuries. There are just a few remaining families still living in underground troglodyte houses in Matmata today. You will get a chance to visit troglodyte museum and homes in Matmata. For Star Wars fans, this was also the filming location of Luke Skywalker’s interior home.
After you will set off for El Jem. The Roman Coliseum in this city is one of the best preserved in the world. It was constructed between 230 and 238 AD and is believed to at one time have hosted between 30,000 to 45,000 spectators. Take time exploring this enormous structure and do not forget to go down to the rooms where gladiators awaited their upcoming battle.
Following, you will travel to travel to Hammamet for the night. Dinner will be at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Tunis-Carthage International Airport for departure, bringing an unforgettable tour to a close.
