This Sahara Desert Camel Trek tour will transport you to the enchanting atmosphere of the Sahara desert away from the hustle and bustle. You will spend 4 days on a camel which includes two full days where you will travel an average of 20 km a day through the Sahara Desert. Immerse yourself in the nomadic lifestyle by eating traditional Berber food and sleeping in traditional tents under the amazing Sahara sky. Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Djerba

Welcome to Tunisia! You will arrive at Djerba Island airport. After your arrival, you will meet your driver who will take you to your hotel for rest. Dinner will be at the hotel.

Day 2Matmata / Douz / Bir Elajimni

Today, you will have a morning departure for Matmata and visit a troglodyte museum and home. For Star Wars fans, you can visit Hotel Sidi Idiss, which was the Star Wars film location of Luke Skywalker’s interior home

Next, depart for Douz where you will meet the camel guides and camels where you will load your baggage and organize the caravan to start your Sahara trek.

Begin your camel journey by traveling through the sand dunes towards Bir Elajimni. Here you will have dinner and an overnight in tents under the amazing Sahara sky.

Day 3Sahara Desert Camel Trek

You will begin the day with breakfast and then depart to Bir Aoun. Lunch will be served next to another oasis.

From there you will travel to Chott Hajria which is known for its desert roses. Here you will have dinner and spent the night.

Day 4Sahara Desert Camel Trek

After breakfast, you will continue your Sahara camel trek in the Grand Erg Oriental.

Depart for Bir Marzouk, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5Sahara Desert Camel Trek / Djerba Island

After breakfast, you will return to Douz. You will be met by your driver and be transferred to the island of Djerba. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hotel to replenish yourself.

Day 6Departure from Djerba-Zarzis International Airport

Today, you will be transferred to the Djerba-Zarzis International Airport for departure, bringing your unforgettable Sahara Desert Camel Trek adventure to a close.
