Arrive to Algiers and meet your guide and transfer to the hotel.
If you have an earlier arrival your guide will take you on an afternoon Algiers city tour which may include a stop at the El Djedid Mosque (17th century), the Bastion 23, and the Bardo Museum, which is set in a Moorish villa.

If your flight to Djanet is in the evening, you will take a morning tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah. Wind your way through the labyrinth or streets and see local artisans at work. There are fantastic views of the city and sea from the Kasbah.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Djanet in southern Algeria. Arrive to the oasis town of Djanet located at the foot of the Tassili mountains and at the edge of the vast sand dunes of Erg Admer. Here you will be met by your guide and you will transfer to a local guesthouse. This region of the Sahara could be some of the most remote areas open to tourists.

Start the day by embarking to Tadrart in a 4×4 vehicle. You will discover the extraordinary natural beauty of desert mountains, canyons, rock arches, and towering sand dunes in this region. Step back thousands of years as you visit the cave and rock paintings (12,000 BC to 100 AD) of cattle, giraffes and people.
Settle into camp, surrounded by Sahara dunes, and enjoy dinner and camping in the canyon of D’In-Djarena. Enjoy the wild beauty of the Sahara and overnight under the canopy of stars.

Continue through Tadrart along the wide desert canyon and valley of El Biredj until you reach the orange colored dunes at Moul el Naga. Overnight in the Sahara.

Today you will travel to the red dunes at Tin Merzouga, which can reach a height of up to 1,800 feet tall. This region hosts some of the most stunning rock arches, including the famous ‘Hedgehog’ rock.

Continue on today in the wide-open Sahara region to the locations of Tilfazou and Oued Amais. Your guide will take you to see the famous ‘cow painting’ that is found in this region. Enjoy your final night camping in the Sahara.

Today you will return to Djanet for lunch and rest. Make sure you leave time to explore the stunning colourful market, taste local foods, and purchase memorable gifts such as the cheche (Touareg turban), to remember your time in the Sahara.
Enjoy a farewell dinner and get some rest in the guesthouse before your flight back to Algiers.

Many of the domestic flight to Algiers are in the middle of the night. Once you arrive back to Algiers, you may want to transfer to a hotel for some rest. If you have energy for a tour, we recommend an additional city tour in Algiers to any museums or sites you may have missed on Day 1 and Day 2.
