We liked the trip very much!
We enjoyed most of the accommodations, especially the small local hotels (Dars). The beach hotel in Hammamet was excellent. The hotel in Sousse which I think we picked was loud and smoky; however the dining was good and Evan loved the gym.
Most of the meals at the hotels were very good and having a dinner included made the stay less stressful.
Anis did a fantastic job with driving and guiding. He also did a good job picking restaurants for lunch that we liked. We had no food issues with anything we ate.A couple of suggestions: an ATV ride either at the safari camp at sunset or to the Roman fort at Ksar Ghilane would’ve been more interesting.
We took the ferry from Djerba to the mainland one morning. Bad idea. It cost us probably at least an hour and a half of time which cut into our time at El Jem. We almost didn’t make it to the archaeological museum as well, which would’ve been a shame as it is excellent and shouldn’t be missed.
The Roman ruins were spectacular.
