The best driver guide was Madjed in Constantine. I also enjoyed having Nahla as a guide and being a female to ask questions about lives of females in Algeria. Brahim was very helpful but I was in Ghardaia on a Friday and having a cold, we were not able to do much.

 

Nadhem in Tunisia was very good and knowledgeable. I enjoyed having the same person every day. I am not much for long rides and the star wars sites were not interesting to me. I enjoyed the 3 hotels. In Tunis it was amazing to stay at a restored old house. It was also close to a hammam I took advantage of. Also I was able to walk around the Medina.

 

The Kashab hotel was nice and in Tuzour they had excellent local food for breakfast and dinner.  The lady cook there made me camel which I had not had before.  The next day when I said it was too much food- just soup and salad would be enough she got/made me date ice cream for desert. Such hospitality.  Too bad I didn’t like what was there to see. I did enjoy spending a day on my own in Hammemet.
