Our group of seven women toured with Mosaic North Africa Tours from May 13 to May 19, 2022. Our guide was Adel. I do not know the name of our driver, but he did a wonderful job of driving us around Tunisia.
It was a fabulous tour, and I cannot recommend the company and Adel enough. Mosaic North Africa was responsive in all ways. If there was an issue that needed to be dealt with, the tour company responded immediately.
Adel was a wonderful guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and dealt with any issue that arose. I cannot recommend Adel enough. Adel showed us the real Tunisia and we were able to see and hear about ancient ruins from many different eras of history. We also had an amazing ride through the dunes in the Sahara Desert, saw oasis mountain villages, visited the Star Wars set, and rode a camel. And we visited the quaint village of Sidi Bou Said which overlooked the Mediterranean Sea…beautiful!
Some things that would improve an already wonderful experience: The guide should be given a microphone to help in communicating in the van. It was difficult to hear Adel speak, especially if you were sitting in the third row. Also, a simple map of Tunisia would be beneficial, showing the route taken, along with the time and distance between each major stop. There were a lot of ruins and mosques visited and if possible, give more down time for wandering, shopping and relaxing as at times it was an exhausting schedule.
The accommodations sometimes could have been better. The Caravanserail Hotel had beautiful grounds, but the rooms left a lot to be desired. Rooms that should have had twin beds often had a single bed, some rooms had no shower curtain and the air conditioning did not work. We were to stay there for two days but when we requested a change of hotels, we were moved to another hotel.
In conclusion, I would recommend Mosaic North Africa Tours. Speaking for myself, it was an amazing experience. I was able to feel comfortable and safe in a country so different from my own with Mosaic North Africa Tours. Thank you for putting together such a great tour.
