There were a handful of highlights: staying the guesthouse in Kairouan and the Medina was was great, going through the Sahara and seeing the oasis’, the iconic Lars igloo and standing where Luke was, but mainly the stay in Sidi Driss in Matmata. Staying in the homestead was almost like you were really in the movie, and I absolutely want to go back for another stay.
Nadhem was incredible! He was very kind, and informative of everywhere we went. He made sure that I was informed of cultural norms and the areas we were at, that I was safe, and never had to worry and I was relaxed. When I wasn’t sure if I’d have enough money for the PCR test because I couldn’t exchange my British pounds at the airport, he offered to lend me the money. Although it didn’t come to that, it was incredible that he offered. He even took me to see his hometown and the Mediterranean Sea.
