The tour of Tunisia was extraordinary, superb in every way from start to finish. I’m so glad that I decided to add Tunisia at the end of my Morocco trip. Tunisia has much to offer the tourist so I am spreading the word with my friends.
Nadhem was a wonderful guide and a careful driver. We established a good rapport (we had communicated prior via WhatsApp) and by the end of the trip it seemed as if I had known him forever. He was attuned to knowing what should be experienced for a first time visitor, and sensing when a spur of the moment opportunity was near, as in the simulation in Djerba of the camel ride by the bride to the groom’s home. Nadhem heard joyful music as we were walking around Houmet Souk, so we followed the music and came across the scene (will send pictures), a real delight to see. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide (and knowledgeable with a keen grasp of history).
I enjoyed all the sights and sites of this trip to Tunisia. Especially interesting we’re the Roman ruins of Carthage, Sbeïtla, Mactaris, Dougga and El Djem (incredible mosaícos and amphitheater). The oases of Douz, Tamaghza, and Ksar Ghilane were amazing. I enjoyed very much Kairouan (mosque and medina), as well as beautiful Sidi Bou Said, the cave homes of Matmata, the salt flats of Chott El Jerid, and Tozeur (unusual architecture and medina). I have many pleasant memories of this trip. Oh, and excellent choices for hotels.
