We have a tradition of camping on my birthday, so this year we decided to go a little “out there” and book a three-day tour with Mosaic North Africa to tour the southeast of Tunisia… and my, what a trip! We dined on good local cuisine, learned lots about the local traditions and culture, had a trustworthy driver and guide we could count on, saw some million dollar views, and enjoyed a few surprises along the way provided by our guide. My birthday this year began by waking up in an underground troglodyte hotel and ended by watching the sunset (and shooting stars later on) from some sand dunes at our camp. It will be hard to top that in the years to come.
