I had a great time on the trip. It was well organized. It was evident that everyone sincerely wanted me to have an enjoyable experience and put forth their maximum effort to make that happen.

 

M’hamed was a great guide. Flawless driving. Prepared to deal with the countless police escorts. And just an overall nice guy. He brought us sweet snacks homemade by his wife. His English was certainly good enough to communicate with us.

 

On May 1st, when we went to the Memorial, I decided to just take my phone and leave my “real” camera in the car with M’hamed. I carry it in a small red nylon sack. I pointed to it as I left the vehicle and said “That’s valuable.” M’hamed repeated “valuable”. A bit later, we were still walking around the Memorial; M’hamed had parked the car and joined us. Sure enough, he was carrying my red bag, not letting it out of his sight. Good job!

 

All the guides were personable and very knowledgeable about the Roman sites and other historical places we visited.
