Best Spot for Surfing in Morocco

If you ask for the perfect place to surf in Morocco, that would be the beaches of Taghazout. This is a small fishing village some 20 kilometers north of Agadir. Consisted mostly of Berber people, the area is known for its fishing and tourism.

Taghazout’s beaches offer excellent conditions for surfing. There are several surfing schools located in the area that will take care of you and work on your skills. The settings of these beaches are absolutely stunning with the mountains and marvelous serene landscapes.

There are also several larger and popular beaches located not far from Taghazout. These are excellent if you want to explore new places: Tamawanza (12 km), Aitswal Beach Imouran (17 km), Taghazout breach (19 km), Du Ikhmiss (20 km), Bouyirdn (21 km), Timzguida allal (22 km), Imiouadar (27 km) and Aghroud (30 km).

The accommodations offered in Taghazout are suitable for couples and those who travel with families, groups, or alone. Although it’s a small village, it has highly qualified surf instructors that speak English, French, and Dutch. For those who are beginners, you will learn all the basics. For those who already feel confident in their surfing skills, the instructors will take you to the best places in the region suiting your level.

Best Months for Surfing in Morocco

The only thing to be taken into consideration is that the months between November and January have slight chances of precipitations and the evening temperature is around 12 C degrees while 23 C during the day. The temperature of the water during this period is around 18 C degrees.
